On Tuesday, June 29 from 12:00-4:30, the Red Cross will set up in McKaig Hall for a Nyack blood drive.
An estimated 38 percent of Americans are eligible to give blood or platelets, but of those, less than 10 percent actually donate each year. If you are healthy and eligible, please come out to donate. Most donations take about an hour, so book your appointment, roll up your sleeve and become a part of the lifesaving mission of the Red Cross.
We are also in need of healthy volunteers to screen donors, distribute light snacks for donors, distribute name tags, and collect information for donors. (If you are an extrovert and looking for ways to help in your community, consider volunteering!)
The Red Cross is taking precaution to collect much-needed blood in a safe, healthy way that adheres to current CDC recommendations. For this reason, the Red Cross encourages signing up for an appointment to donate ahead of time.
